Pop trio Valley Reintroduced is back with a raw and emotionally charged new track, “When You Know Someone,” marking a significant evolution in their sound. The song, released through Capitol Records/Universal Music Canada, is a departure from the band’s previous work, infused with a newfound intensity and urgency.

Built on a foundation of driving guitar riffs and Karah James’ powerful vocals, “When You Know Someone” delves into the complexities of relationships and the pain of betrayal. The song’s raw emotion is reminiscent of Valley Reintroduced early influences, such as Bruce Springsteen and The Killers, while simultaneously forging a fresh sonic identity.

The track marks a new chapter for the band, who have recently transitioned from a four-piece to a trio following the departure of guitarist Mickey Brandolino. With the support of longtime friend and collaborator Chase Lawrence, Valley has rediscovered its core sound and emerged stronger than ever.

We wrote ‘When you Know Someone’ with Trent Dabbs (Kacey Musgraves, COIN, Ingrid Michaelson) who helped us channel the emptiness we were feeling. He sang the lyric ‘when you know someone, think you know someone’ and I remember all of us just feeling so exposed and so seen by him in that moment. It’s a beautiful feeling of safety when you can write a song with people that truly understand where you’re coming from, you can’t hide and that’s powerful.
