Sometimes, we have to learn to go through things and not around things. People have hurt me, but it propelled me to take a stand and advocate so that it doesn’t happen to me or anyone again. If I could accomplish all that (plus more) with a so-called ‘disability,’ then what’s your excuse? Everybody has a purpose, despite a disability. I am a proponent of inclusion, appealing for the ‘nondisabled’ to make time to get to know us. There’s still a need to spread not only awareness but also acceptance.
