On The Table Read Magazine, “the best entertainment magazine in the UK“, rock band, Animals On TV, have released their new three song EP, Spring Break 2095.
Spring Break 2095
Austin based rock four-piece, Animals On TV, have released their new three song EP, Spring Break 2095. Their music pays homage to the MTV period (mid 80’s – late 00’s), especially when things got very bizarre with MTV in the mid 2000’s and the channel was inseparable from unscripted television, proto-powerhouse VIPs, and cheap mainstream society. The EP’s three songs examine this strange phenomenon from the past, present, and future.
Animals On TV
Animals On TV was formed in 2019 in Austin, and spent the year 2020 writing and perfecting their craft, getting into their stride just as Covid took over the world. Texas based friends Rob Hogan and Andrew Davis had seen one too many boring indie shows and wanted to find some fun. Intending to find the best of Rock and Roll by mixing bands from different eras, like The Strokes, The Clash, and The Rolling Stones, Animals On TV blend these influences into joyfully wild live shows, and classic songs.
Most importantly, Animals On TV are full of personality and wit.
The Austin Chronicle nominated the band as the best new band of the year in 2021. In 2022, the band won Resound’s, “Unreleased,” a a battle of the bands competition featuring 20+ local acts and opened for Beach Fossils in a sold out show at Mohawk in Austin. In 2023, the band is focused composing and releasing more music, as well as setting their sights beyond their neighborhood Austin scene.
The ongoing line up features Rob Hogan on vocals, Andrew Davis on musicality guitar, Ben Baron on drums, Alex Ward on bass, and Gabe Posada or Sam Franklin on lead guitar.
