Tyler Gunn Released Ethereal New Track, A Million Miles

On The Table Read Magazine, “the best entertainment magazine in the UK“, Canadian artist Tyler Gunn has released A Million Miles, questioning the role of suffering in our lives, blending familiar and unfamiliar elements.

Artist and producer from Toronto, Ontario, Tyler Gunn, releases music with heavy influences from 90s alternative rock, mixing elements of grunge, dream pop, folk, and art rock. Though It’s hard to put him in a box, and even harder to put his music in one. Using music as a tool for self discovery, every song is unique and aims to capture a different feeling.

It’s rare that I even know what a song is about until after finishing it. They reveal themselves to me at different times, and sometimes never at all.

With lyrics detailing themes of love, struggle, loss, and god, Gunn says he uses music as a way to better understand and navigate the world around him.

A Million Miles

In new song, A Million Miles, Tyler Gunn questions the role of suffering in our lives. With a dark and almost eerie tone, the song features wailing guitars, crashing percussion and a menacing bassline. It also recruits percussionist Matt Johnson who formerly accompanied Jeff Buckley during his career.

Demonstrating his love of colliding sonic worlds, Gunn blends a combination of familiar and unfamiliar elements, executed in a fresh and exciting way. Combined, these elements create a shadowy and ethereal atmosphere that’s both beautiful and haunting.

This song came at a time when I desperately needed it. Life at that point felt stale and unchanging. Making this felt like the beginning of a new chapter.

Gunn aims to create music that gives his listeners permission to “feel what they’re feeling”. He hopes that his latest track can be as cathartic for others as making it was for him.
