Headfirst Thrills On Wheels

Max Mteliso, a determined and inspiring survivor of brain injury, shares his adventures of globetrotting in his wheelchair in his audiobook, Headfirst Thrills On Wheels.

Narrator Kevin Howard relays, in the first person, Mteliso’s extraordinary exploration, where every challenge overcome is a victory celebrated, and every solution found is a testament to the indomitable human spirit. Listen to untold stories of accessibility, resilience, and the unyielding pursuit of living life beyond limitations.

A life-altering accident forced Mteliso to redefine his path. But instead of succumbing to limitations, he discovered a powerful truth: problem-solving wasn’t just a source of adrenaline, it was a key to improving lives. This revelation shattered societal doubts about disabled individuals and ignited a fire within him.

Mteliso’s journey wasn’t about seeking thrills, but about proving a profound point: the pursuit of solutions itself brings immense joy and purpose. Yet, before embarking on solo adventures, he craved knowledge. Information on accessibility for disabled travelers was scarce, so he bravely ventured out, ready for anything.

Inspired by the indomitable spirit of legends like Stephen Hawking, I set my sights beyond the confines of my immediate environment, thirsting for the thrill of overcoming obstacles and engaging in relentless problem-solving. The path I chose was fraught with challenges, some threatening the very essence of survival, yet my unwavering faith, echoed by Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin’s words, ‘Come what may, and love it,’ became my mantra.
