These Things Take Time by Steve and Julie Carter

Stephen and Julie Carter’s These Things Take Time is a poignant exploration of childhood love and the enduring power of connection. This romantic novel follows Pele and Angela from their chance encounter in the 1960s to their complex relationship spanning decades.

Set against the backdrop of a northern working-class town, the novel vividly captures the atmosphere of the era. The authors’ evocative descriptions of music, fashion, and the protagonists’ lives will resonate with readers.

These Things Take Time is a heartwarming story of lost love, fate, and the enduring power of human connection. As Pele and Angela navigate the twists and turns of life, readers will find themselves captivated by their emotional journey and the timeless question: Is it possible to find love a second time?

Steve And Julie Carter

This is our third novel, independently released in June and has already reached four-figure sales. The first one, Love, Sex and Tesco’s Finest Cava, reached number 3 in UK Kindle sales in 2011. These Things Take Time is different in tone from our previous novels, but the feedback has been excellent, with readers saying this is the best one we’ve written so far.

Julie and I originally lived in northwestern England. For the last 15 years, we have been based in the beautiful Highlands of northern Scotland, where we run a small B&B. We spend our time writing and walking our golden retriever, George, in the surrounding forests. This is the third novel we have worked on together.
