Dr. Doug Mader

Dr. Doug Mader has been a veterinarian for nearly four decades and is a triple board-certified specialist. He has written three best-selling medical textbooks and numerous scientific publications, and he is a speaker with international recognition. In the Key West Citizen, Reptiles magazine, and the Long Beach Press Telegram, he has written regularly about pets.

The Fred L. Frye Lifetime Achievement Award for Veterinary Medicine, the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine Alumni Achievement Award, and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Conservation Award all go to Dr. Mader. He has won the Western Veterinary Conference Educator of the Year award four times and the North American Veterinary Community Speaker of the Year award seven times. Additionally, he is a fellow of the British Royal Society of Medicine. While Dr. Mader practiced for a number of years in California, he now lives and works in the Florida Keys.
