On The Table Read, “the best book magazine in the UK“, The Touchwood Chronicles: The Sun & the Moon by Corin Thistlewood is a fascinating and semi-biographical novel that explores the life of a modern day Wiccan.
With stirring themes of spirituality and a cast of characters that wouldn’t be out of place in a fantasy novel, Corin Thistlewood’s new book is a must-read for anyone who has ever wandered off the beaten path and explored new ways of living…
Corin Thistlewood has lived an eclectic life. He began his career as a successful electronic engineer, before opening the Australian College of Druidry, which was given the moniker ‘the real life Hogwarts’ by the media.
Now he opens the door on the Wiccan World with his new book, The Touchwood Chronicles: The Sun & the Moon. Thistlewood leaves no stone unturned or subject untouched as he weaves fact and fiction together, writing with singular intelligence and vibrance, exploring magic, mysticism, sexuality and the explosive power of living one’s truth, no matter the consequences.
Combining science, spirituality and fiction, this semi-biographical novel is the story of a Ministry of Defence aerospace engineer embarking on an adventure to discover his spiritual self. Along the way he encounters some fascinating characters who seem to be able to live outside of society’s norms. Eventually admitted to a Wiccan coven, where he encounters a mysterious Priestess who takes him beyond his wildest dreams.
These are the real-life confessions of a modern-day Wiccan who later went on to establish the Australian College of Druidry, which was dubbed by the press as the Australian real-life Hogwarts. But which is true, and which is fiction? You decide.
Corin Thistlewood left his career in engineer to follow his passion for personal development, leading to a life of practicing and teaching methods of complementary healing, and becoming the editor of two pagan magazines: ‘Earth Spirit’ and ‘Sheela na Gig’.
He has been a member of a Wiccan coven, lived on an Organic smallholding in Ireland, and later Australia, where he founded the ‘Australian College of Druidry,’ developing the ‘Celtic Shaman correspondence course,’ and running courses on Celtic spirituality.
Corin now lives in Southwest England where he has become a full-time author. He is a member of the local Drama group, enjoys long walks to megalithic sites or along the coast, with his son and dog Scrappy.
