Since then, it has been named No. 1 in Channel 4’s 50 Greatest Comedy Films poll, is one of the Top 250 movies on IMDb, and has a staggering 96% rating on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer.
Written by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, and Terry Jones, and starring the six members of the illustrious comedy group in a variety of roles. To finance the movie, George Harrison, a former Beatle, founded Handmade Films. Since its initial release, it has maintained its irreverent, outrageous, timely, and hilarious qualities.
