The Hellish Man

Taking readers out of their comfort zone from the outset, The Hellish Man by Matthew Taylor is page-turning and full-on scary first instalment in his planned Spirit Series.

Bursting with slow burn descriptive dread and an intriguing protagonist, who hears echoes of the dead whilst on his quest to rid the world of dangerous sprits, there is no doubt that this author knows his subject and has a passion for the occult.

Combining all the elements of a great horror novel, The Hellish Man is an impressive debut novel that delivers full-on spooky moments in spades, as well as having readers eagerly awaiting the second instalment of the Spirt Series.

Mace Donovan is The Hellish Man a man tethered to the Demons of hell, his job to cleanse supernatural entities yet when he offers to help a young family out whose young child is suffering from possession. Donovan realises he is up against his weakness as he tries to uncover the mystery surrounding the cottage and the family while battling a power Demon that is terrorising the Nigel family.

About Matthew Taylor

I have always loved stories and breaking down their narratives. During my breaks in college, I started selling text adventures and short stories to make a small profit.

Not long after finishing college, I started writing my first book, ‘Dead’ Sea’, a zombie novella in which I try to pay homage to my favourite horror sub-genre zombies from the eighties and nineties while trying to maintain a modern story.

After finding success with my first novel, I continued writing and found it to be an escape as we entered the many lockdowns brought on by the recent pandemic.
