The Fat Club

With a title that begs you to find out more, The Fat Club isn’t perhaps the story you expect. It is, however, a great spy thriller, with sequels two to four already in the pipeline.

The Fat Club

A vivid and fast-paced novella (92 pages), The Fat Club introduces two relatable and hugely likeable protagonists who are doing their best to stay one step ahead of the drama they have unwittingly immersed themselves in.

Whilst John Hodge freely admits that support for his writing endeavours hasn’t always been forthcoming, this debut published work and its five star-reviews confirms he is an author to look out for.

The Fat Club isn’t all that it seems.

The story is of Simon and Summer Rodgers who are in their 50s and 60s – Simon owns a chauffeur business, whilst Summer works for the NHS.

Simon, a health fanatic, receives an email from The Fat Club a sports and supplement company when he returns from their holiday. As the story moves on Simon gets a invite to look around The Fat Club and realises all is not what it seems.

John Hodge

The company is, in fact, a government agency and they want Simon to spy on one of his clients a Mr Bay.

From this point things go downhill as Simon tries to stay one step ahead.

About John Hodge

John Hodge is 65 and works full time in the transport industry, whilst writing in his spare time. He is married with one son, who is now in his 40s.

He says: “I’ve always had a vivid imagination and over the years I have started and not finished many manuscripts.  However, my first book,The Fat Club, was published in 2019 and my second book – The Fat Club Gets Slimm – will be published in July this year.  The manuscripts for books three and four in the series are written and waiting to go to the publishers.”
