Tell me a bit about yourself.

Christine Corbett

Hi I’m Christine Corbett I am an awarding winning Actress from Glasgow, I am also the lead Presenter of The Author’s Series, executive assistant and production manager for Frank McGowan, Bad Pony Media Productions/BrawTV Scotland.  In my spare time I go to Yoga & I am part of the Wild Sea Women of Ayrshire.

When did you first realise you wanted to be an actor?

I first realised I wanted to be an Actor when I left my housing job in 2016 & my first role as a supporting actor in River City.

What is your favourite thing about performing?

My favourite thing about performing is getting into the character I play and working with like minded creative people.

What classes or training sessions have you taken to support your acting career?

I went to Glasgow Acting Academy, Lenny Mullan’s classes for many years then went onto Strathclyde University in 2018/2019 to do my professional qualification in Acting/Theatre Studies.

What was your first professional acting job?

The first professional acting job was The Inescapable Arrival of Lazio Petushki that won at the BAFTA in 2016.

What was your most recent professional acting job?

Christine Corbett

My most recent job in my acting career was signing the biggest contract in my life in January 2020 for feature film Evening of the Dead, I got the role of Mum.  Due to the pandemic it’s not been filmed yet but now have a date next year to film it.

Tell me a favourite experience in your career. Something that stands out in your memories and makes you want to find more experiences like it.

Signing my contracts for various parts, I get so excited and can’t stop smiling, it’s a great feeling when after doing an audition to hear them saying, you lit up the room, I’d like to offer you the part.

What was your toughest experience in your acting career?

The toughest experience in my acting career is people saying to me, “get a real job”, and learning lines, I used to find that the hardest part but I’ve now learned a way of doing it easier.

Have you family and friends been supportive of your acting career?

Some of my friends are really supportive to me, it is a hard game when you decide I’m doing what I love when you don’t know where or when your next job/money is coming from.

Tell me some career goals. What would you like to achieve?

I want to win a BAFTA award for the best Actress. To continue to do what I love, get main parts in productions that will also give me financial freedom.

Tell me something you were surprised by, something you had never realised about being a professional actor.

Something I was surprised with is when Frank said that’s your fan page open, I said I’ve got a fan page 😂 and the first time someone in the chemist said your famous, can you give me your autograph & ran & got a pen and paper.

What are words of advice you have for other aspiring actors?

Words for aspiring actors, if acting is something you want to do, do it, when you do something you love you never work a day in your life and never give up and never take it personally when you don’t get the part.
