On The Table Read Magazine, “the best book magazine in the UK“, in Nigel Dyer’s Wigs, Lies And Alibis, an ex-con desires revenge, but DCI LeFanu finds himself baffled as to who is behind this web of deceit, murder and falsehoods.
Wigs, Lies And Alibis
In Wigs, Lies And Alibies, Nigel Dyer takes readers deep down a rabbit hole of deceit and blackmail, to say nothing of numerous murders with carefully orchestrates skulduggery and malevolence.
Ex-con George Pchelski desires revenge, putting a whole host of red herrings in the path of super-sharp DCI LeFanu, and triggering a sequence of events he could never have imagined. Unbeknown to him, his stunning, wealthy, materialistic French lover, Charlotte, has her own plan to take revenge on her profligate husband. But it all goes horribly wrong.
A series of burglaries in a wealthy Suffolk village and a body in a hot tub is just the beginning for DCI LeFanu. Every twist and turn of the investigation takes him deeper into a world of misdirection and untruths whilst the body count rises inexorably. And the dead cannot answer his questions.
Against a background of blackmail, fraud, sexual exploitation and the jet-set lifestyle of the rich, and with the action moving from rural England to London, France, the USA and Switzerland, LeFanu and his team become entangled in a web of deception and lies. Is anyone what they seem?
Wigs, Lies And Alibies is a very different genre for Nigel Dyer who has created one of those rare mysteries that keeps you guessing to the very end. Previously, Dyer authored books on creative marketing for financial services. Wigs, Lies and Alibis will tick all the boxes for fans of the genre and have readers very much looking forward to the next mind-stretching case (which is already in the pipeline).
