KICKNUT

KICKNUT is a power trio that does fun/funny rap rock for the people of earth.

When did you first WANT to write music?

The minute I first heard it.

Donner Music, make your music with gear

When did you take a step to start writing music?

A tape recorder, a guitar, a pad of paper and the whipping seasons began baby.

What was your first piece of music released, and what inspired it?

GRINDZONE, inspired by stadium rocking chants and the desire to crush everyday like it’s a package of gummy bears to a 13 year old.

What was your latest music released, and what inspired it?

WHATEVER IT TAKES—-taking back the control of your life, and what you have to do to make that happen.

Focusing on your latest piece of music. What were your biggest challenges with Whatever It Takes?

Getting the people’s to hear it. How do you do that?

What are you working on right now?

A cover: maybe girls just wanna have fun or waterfalls by TLC—–something that would be absurd and rocking—we’re all sick of the dirge covers.

Do you keep to a theme with your music, or just go where the mood strikes?

We have a mood: to crush

What is your favourite piece of music you’ve recorded, and what do you love about it?

P.S. Middle Finger—-our inner children would have been proud of us. And BIG GIG is something our adult versions are super stoked on.

Do you find other people’s music inspires you? Who do you listen to most?

Slipknot, The Chillest, and TLC.

Do you record and produce your own music, or pay musicians and producers?

We play the music, we have a special person who mixes our tracks right angle recording who is like the 4th member of kicknut.

What instruments do you play?

All of them. Not oboe though.

Do you like performing live, or does it scare you? Where can people watch you?

We live to play live. it’s an addiction. we are live music addicts.

Is your music available to the public, and where can people listen to it?

Everywhere, search KICKNUT.

Are you able to make music full time, or do you have day job?

We are all full time musicians in NYC. This is our passion project music.

Are your friends and family supportive of your music career?

Yes. They love to rock out or our relationships won’t work. Nahwhatimean dawg.

What’s something you never expected about writing music ? What have you learned that surprised you?

The music business is super crazy. Maybe should have gone into finance and done music for fun.

Do it everyday and experience more joy in life.

And, finally, are your proud of your accomplishment? Was it worth the effort?
