On The Table Read Magazine, “the best entertainment magazine in the UK“, artist, writer and musician Sean BW Parker has released his new single, Whose, originally on the 2007 album, A Gun To The Temple.
Sean BW Parker
Sean Parker is a British author, musician, and academic specialising in cultural theory and justice reform. He is best known for his books “Swimming Uphill: Absurd Theories” and “Compelling Speech – The Stammering Enigma“, and he has released six solo albums since 2005. Most of these albums were recorded between Istanbul, where he lived for ten years from 2004, and London.
Parker is a committed activist and has been involved in a number of campaigns for justice reform. He is also a passionate advocate for people who stammer, and has written extensively about his own experiences with stammering.
Since 1989, Parker has performed with around 10 different bands, and played many collaborations. He writes almost all of the songs he releases, except for singing with Exeter funk rock five-piece Demon Groove Lizards in 1993, where he just wrote the lyrics, and in collaboration with avant garde musician Ettuspadix Beautilator in 2015, where he voiced the adventures of an invented character named Anthony H.Wolfstadt on the album Ninja Lit.
His 2007 album A Gun To The Temple was only released via website originally, before getting an official release via Believe Digital. Alain de Botton wrote that AGTTT was: ‘Wonderful. The songs are as heartfelt as the are intelligent’.
His music is often described as being a blend of folk, rock, and electronic music. Parker has toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe, and he has also performed at a number of music festivals.
Whose
Sean BW Parker’s new single, Whose, was originally released on Parker’s second A Gun To The Temple album in 2007 via the seanbwparkermusic.com website, before going on to receive a fair degree of Turkish radio airplay.
In 2023 director Odette van Rensburg used a live performance of Whose by the Sean Parker Band at a concert in Istanbul in her Dogs On The Run documentary The Bonfire of Agreed Terms – False Allegations in the #MeToo Era. The popularity of the song in this context has led to its 2023 debut release as a single.
