Anna Spencer
I live in Ferndown, Dorset, was born in Poland and trained as a Civil Engineer but always had a passion to create and paint. I moved to the UK in 2004 where I trained as an Architectural Technologist.
If you would tell me four years ago, that I would publish a book… I wouldn’t have believed it, as I had never thought of doing this, it only came about after creating the Roglin drawings that they appeared to have character, and there was more to the drawings than just what we could see.
My family suggested that maybe I could write a couple of sentences to go with each of the drawings so the illustration could be understood better. I thought this was a great idea, I tried to do it, but this was not a very easy task, as couple of sentences were not enough!
I decided to study two online courses about children’s books and about children’s poetry. Those courses were amazing and very helpful and after a while I decided to send my manuscript to publishers, and I wasn’t sure whether the book would be well received. But Roglins was accepted and approved by Nightingale, part of Pegasus Publishers.
Now people will meet Roglins! And I have already started visiting local primary schools with my book and have received some fantastic feedback from both teachers, and children.
