Remember Summer is an indie-pop duo comprised of Northern Irish musician Paddy Conn of Swimming Tapes and English vocalist Angelina Dove. Their music evokes a nostalgic dream-like state, blending dusty synths with wistful poetry.

The duo met in 2016 while working together at a London café. Inspired by shared musical tastes and a love for nostalgic soundscapes, they began crafting songs that capture the fleeting beauty of summer days and the quiet introspection of autumn nights.

Summer of ‘16 became the year of collaboration for Paddy and I. We started swapping ideas at work. It all started as a bit of fun really, sort of a distraction to stem boredom but when the cafe went bust the following year and we both got fired we realised that we’d started something we missed more than frying eggs. Since we live 5 minutes away from each other we’ve kept it up. This is ‘Remember Summer’.

Blink-182

Remember Summer, the indie-pop duo, continues to captivate listeners with their dreamy, nostalgic sound. Following the success of their Miley Cyrus cover, they have released a haunting rendition of Blink-182’s “All The Small Things.” This reimagined version features Angelina Dove’s ethereal vocals paired with melancholy instrumentation, creating a unique and captivating listening experience.

I came across the lyrics for that song and read them out of context, and it got me thinking. There was something haunting about them, a kind of disenchantment particularly in the line about roses left by the stairs. It took me right back to quite a lonely period of my life where flowers softened grief and became symbolic tokens vs romantic gestures. I asked Paddy to play the chords (again out of context and without bringing up the original) and it kind of went from there…
