On The Table Read Magazine, “the best entertainment magazine in the UK“, Rachel Bochner has released her new single, Sucker Punch, from her upcoming EP.

Sucker Punch

Singer-songwriter Rachel Bochner is based in New York and has a passion for transforming the trials of exploring your twenties into music anybody can connect to. Through refreshingly real lyricism, Rachel is unafraid of owning her thoughts, mistakes, and feelings we all try to avoid. Rachel combines the dark with the whimsical to create a musical thumbprint that could only be identified as her own.

The first track from her upcoming EP, Sucker Punch, is a cathartic soundtrack of a post-heartbreak revenge fantasy, and the kind of song you’ll want to scream-sing in your car when you need free therapy. The track, which is played over moody, distorted guitars and heavy, layered bass tracks, declares, we should forget the high road; being petty is WAY more fun.

Rachel herself explained that Sucker Punch is the kind of song where there was a clear emotion that she wanted to convey. She believes that mny people can relate to that feeling, especially right after getting your heartbroken. The song is set in a fantasy of retribution and lists all the things she could do to get back at the person who hurt her, but in the end, she is just lost in my head trying to feel better.

Rachel Bochner’s EP

The story of Sucker Punch sets the tone for the rest of the EP, in which she talks about the things we do to feel better, even if they aren’t the best for us. Rachel writes songs to listen to when we want to get in our feelings, vent our frustrations when someone does us dirty, and straight up party to. Her songs are a delightful concoction of songs that dance between vulnerable, melancholy, energetic, and playful.

Through her music, Rachel likes to encourage listeners to unapologetically feel their feelings, NEVER take shit from unworthy men, and remember that even when you’re sad, you’re still hot.

Rachel Bochner is sure to make a lot of noise when her debut EP comes out later this year. You won’t be able to stop listening to her fiery, relatable, and jovial music any time soon.
