Dear Diary, It’s Me by Lucinda Lamont

Lucinda Lamont’s Dear Diary, It’s Me is a gripping psychological thriller that delves into the darkest corners of the human psyche. Through a series of diary entries, readers are drawn into the lives of four interconnected characters, each grappling with their own personal demons.

Alice, a young professional, struggles with addiction and self-destruction. Hannah and Craig, a seemingly perfect couple, face the devastating impact of infertility. Ollie, a bullied outcast, yearns for connection and acceptance. And Phil, a disgraced teacher, hides a sinister secret.

As their stories intertwine, the consequences of their choices become increasingly dire. Lamont’s masterful storytelling and vivid characterization create a suspenseful and thought-provoking narrative that explores themes of addiction, betrayal, and the blurred lines between right and wrong.

Dear Diary, It’s Me is a haunting reminder that even the most ordinary lives can harbor extraordinary darkness.

Lucinda Lamont is 38 and lives in Hampshire and works as business development director for University of Southampton Science Park.

Dear Diary, It’s Me is the darkest of the novels I have written. I would say all of my books have a ‘woman in jeopardy’ theme. I wrote this book during the pandemic, and I think that is quite possibly why it ended up being such a dark plot. The story features various characters who all end up becoming linked by tragedy – but the main point for me was that all of the issues the characters faced and the poor choices they made were as a result of alcohol.

I am passionate about supporting tech and science startups develop their businesses. At home, I live with my partner, and we have two young children and a cockapoo!

I was born in Aberdeen and lived in Peterhead, Scotland until I was 12. I am one of five children (the only girl), and the family moved down South, and I have been here ever since.

My first novel ‘Cupidity’ was published when I was 31, ‘Kalopsia’ followed 18 months later and ’Trust Me’ followed another 18 months after that. Trust me actually tipped a best sellers chart on Apple (briefly) last year.
