On The Table Read Magazine, “the best book magazine in the UK“, in Done With Hope, Wenzi Tover shares her own life story through her fictionalised character, Charlie, from schoolgirl to confident woman with superwoman stoicism.

Done With Hope

In a barely concealed autobiography, Done With Hope, Wenzi Tover will touch the heart of her readers with the honesty and authenticity that jumps from the page with her fictionalised character, Charlie, in a story about a strong and determined woman who can turn her hand to anything.

Even from a very young age, disaster seems to have followed accident prone Charlie around. By the time she left Primary school she had received more stitches and had more broken bits fixed than most of her classmates.

The story follows Charlie as her life continued to be like a never-ending rollercoaster, changing from her being on top of the world, fulfilling all her dreams in one week to being in the pits of the earth the next, with everything coming crashing down around her.

Charlie developed a strong and stoic personality as she weathered these storms and carried on, brought up to believe that everything could be dealt with, that the past did not dictate the future, and that the glass was always half full.

This story describes some of the major mishaps and adventures in Charlie’s life, both the good and the bad, and shows how she was able to pick herself up and battle on.

Guaranteed to resonate with all those women whose similar metaphorical super powers have been the bedrock of supporting their families and friends to thrive, Done With Hope also highlights that however much we believe we are in control, life has a knack of throwing a curve ball that is beyond our control.

With a second volume already in the pipeline, Wenzi Tover reminds us how even those not-so-good bits in life give us the strength to deal with what lays ahead. It is also reinforces the importance of waking up every morning and ensuring that your cup of life is overflowing.

Done with Hope is really all about when things knock you down, get up and carry on. I am a strong woman blessed with a can do anything attitude.  Having been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer diagnosis my second Charlie book will be about life after diagnosis, craniotomy, nephrectomy and treatments. It will also be about living in a static caravan and getting ripped off, moving to a flat, and finally buying, doing up and moving into a home forever. Whilst also dealing with my 91 year old Dad who is in hospital, putting down cat and all the other crap life throws at you.

I am based in Formby near Liverpool, so is the book although all names and places changed to be based around Hull.

I am a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and qualified mathematics teacher. I have one son (25) one brother and a very elderly, poorly father (91) I have a great circle of friends and hobbies as such are not specific. I love doing houses up and refurbishment and spending time with friends, eating out or otherwise.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer in October 21 and so between craniotomy, nephrectomy and treatment sessions, my Dad, and doing up a wreck of a house to move in to, there has not been a lot of time for much else.
