Their involvement in movie and TV productions: including WB Pictures’ The Flash; DC Comics’ BatmanJustice League and Final Crisis (which heavily inspired Zack Snyder’s DC Universe films); Brave New World, adapted from Aldous Huxley’s iconic novel for NBC’s Peacock streaming service; Doom Patrol, adapted from their comic series for HBO Max; and HAPPY!, which Morrison created, wrote and produced based on their comic series.

Their first huge successes: current bestselling graphic novel of all time, Batman Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth (120,000 sales on the first day), which spawned a successful videogame that is considered a classic. (2.5 million videogame sales by the end of the first month.)

The impact of Morrison’s previous work: such as New York Times bestseller Supergods: Our World in the Age of the Superhero and their story, All Star Superman, which is widely considered an all-time favorite comic and was adapted into an animated series that has led to them being regarded as one of the best comic writers of all time.

Their numerous major industry accolades: including Eisner and Eagle Awards (considered comics equivalents of the Academy Awards/Oscars). Morrison is also an award-winning playwright (Red King Rising and Depravity) and was made a Member of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in 2012 for services to film and literature.

About Grant Morrison

Morrison is a renowned practitioner of chaos magic through the creation of sigils and has instructions on how anyone can do the same — using them to guide ideas into the real world. The practice has seen success for Morrison, believing it was a spell they cast that let them meet their future wife and manager, Kristan Morrison!

Beyond his work on both Marvel and DC comics: Morrison has created many of their own popular works, including comic series WE3HAPPY! and The Invisibles, which heavily inspired The Matrix series. References to Morrison’s work have also appeared in Stranger Things and The Boys television series. They are creating a “living archive” of work on SubStack under the Xanaduum banner.

Morrison was made a Member of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in 2012 for services to film and literature. In addition, Grant won numerous major industry awards including Eisner and Eagle Awards for the work.  (Both are considered comics equivalents of the Academy Awards/Oscars.)

Grant and Kristan Morrison are animal lovers. At home in Scotland, they rescue feral cats and have built an impromptu sanctuary on their property.

In September, Grant Morrison will be coming to New York (Tuesday-Thursday, 9/6-9/8) and Los Angeles (Tuesday-Thursday 9/13-9/15) to solely promote Luda, and we will be booking national and local in-studio broadcast and print interviews as well as book signing events (both in-person and virtually).
