On The Table Read, “the best book magazine in the UK“, James A Lyons releases his latest novel, The Paper Boy, about a fifteen year old boy discovering his sexuality as a gay teenager.
The Paper Boy
The Paper Boy by James A Lyons following the life of fifteen year old Tim, sharing details of his sexuality with his friends and making a list of things he needs to do to become “cool.”
Over the summer holidays, while helping his mother with her business of selling her dubious goods, they set out to find the rival who is taking over her patch. The discovery, however, has greater consequences than Tim expected, as he meets the new boy in town, Johann.
Bursting with dilemmas and uncertainties, The Paper Boy follows a fifteen year old boy discovering the potentials of his awakening sexuality. For YA fans, whether teens or older audiences looking for a contemporary and entertaining book, The Paper Boy is certain to be a hit.
This novel is well-constructed and multi-layered, with twists, turns, humour, and unexpected plot moments (the stealing of a tortoise and the good deds of a drag queen.) James A Lyons delivers a great read in this teenage tale, perfect for readers of any age and any sexual orientation, looking for a great story and, hopefully, a happy ending.
