On The Table Read Magazine, “the best book magazine in the UK“, Steve Bonham’s The Spirit Dog is the the true story of how a mysterious dog, named Black, adopts a team of adventurers, including Steve and his friend Moha, during their Moroccan adventure.
The Spirit Dog
Numerous legends, folklore, and anecdotes across various cultures share stories of how mysterious and enigmatic dogs have helped weary travellers, and new book, The Spirit Dog, is the true story of a dog who does just that, Black.
After seeming to come from nowhere, the enigmatic hound took on the role of supporting, protecting and guiding author Steve Bonham and his fellow travellers during their walk from the roof of the High Atlas Mountains to the sands of the Sahara Desert. Taking readers through the heat, rocky mountains and deep valleys, encountering deserted kasbahs, streams of salt water, remote villages, a young snake and packs of wild dogs, The Spirt Dog is an enchanting and haunting tale of adventure and companionship.
Instantly capturing the imagination of readers of all ages, this evocative story also highlights the delights of exploring new countries and cultures, whilst also reminding us that not everything in life has a rational explanation.
Beautifully illustrated by Tasia Graham, The Spirit Dog benefits from Arts Council funding, which has enabled Steve Bonham to further share his remarkable story via a book and library tour scheduled for later this year.
With its own website (which contains specially composed music, activities, interviews and more), Steve is delighted to confirm that a donation will also be made for each copy purchased to Education for All (Morocco), a charity whose mission is to rebuild school accommodation destroyed in the earthquake last year.
A must-read for dog lovers and all those keen to fuel their wanderlust and passion for our canine friends – The Spirit Dog by Steve Bonham is a book whose story once read, will never be forgotten.
