Struth! is one of those novels whose impact will probably last a lifetime.

Ave Forme constructed the narrative based on a model of existence derived from a logical interpretation of our own history at its core. Science, religion, and philosophy have been added to fill in the gaps and establish connections, starting with the presumption that life has meaning. By doing so, he sets up this fascinating book so that the main characters can openly talk about their different beliefs and how they relate to the world. In addition, these opposing viewpoints are seen to converge and to be equally valid in their attempt to create a “theory of everything” that blurs the lines between science and religion.

The author’s thinking coincidentally also aligns with Douglas Adams’ assertion in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy that 42 provides the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything. Forme offers a fresh and accessible perspective on those questions that frequently percolate in the mind but are rarely afforded an opportunity to be explored.

Ava Forme

Ava Forme has a background in engineering and aviation. Now based in Hampshire, he took early retirement in 2015 from his job as a civil servant in the European Union in part to focus on writing. According to some, he emerged just in time.

He shared that he has no specific qualifications to compose this book; maybe no one living has by the same token! All he can offer is a creative mind and a life-long interest in science and philosophy. And with mathematics ingrained in his psyche, he approaches writing in a similar way, showing all his workings to give greater insights into his ideas and added strength to the logic and rationale that led to their development.

Now in the autumn of his life, and having attained a modicum of wisdom, he felt an increased level of urgency to tell his story.
