I wrote the songs I needed to hear when I was going through it. 2019 knocked the wind out of me and for a while I tried to forget about it. But the more I tried to tuck it away, the more it haunted me. I realized, in the last few years, if I were going to move forward, I had to write about it. I learned so much in those 365 days- particularly that there are so many ways to have your heart broken, sometimes it’s from a breakup, family, death, or even ourselves. For me it was all of the above. Some stories demand to be written. “2019” is mine.
