The idea of the book is to bring arouse the reader’s curiosity in the misbehaviour of mythological gods.

Over the centuries and indeed the millennia, there have been hundreds of gods across the world belonging to many different civilisations. Only a few of them are completely virtuous and most of them indulge in some form of bad behaviour, some more than others.

John McKie is a 58-year-old social science graduate with the Open University (BSc Hons).

He worked for the DM Thomas Foundation from 2013-2021 as a grants administrator. He currently works as a library assistant. His previous jobs involve working for a number of organisations in the not-for-profit sector including Macmillan Cancer Support and the NHS.

His interests include history, sociology, photography and the environment.  He is also a listener to the BBC World Service and takes an interest in world events. In addition, he listens to a lot of classical music.
