When I started writing this book – my first – it initially started as me writing down some of the more amusing travel stories that I’ve experienced over the years. However, the further I went into it and the more I reflected on my life and learnings I’ve gained along the way, the more it became a cathartic experience for me.
It’s been equal parts fun and harrowing to write, as it has drawn me back into times of great joy, but also those of great sadness, grief and despair. The book is – at its core – a frank and honest human story. You don’t have to be nigh-on blind or an avid traveller to take something from it. If I make someone smile, laugh or reflect on life in a new way? Then I’ve done a good job. Hell, having anyone read about my life at all is a success!
