On The Table Read Magazine, “the best entertainment eBook magazine UK“, the new EP from Greco-Swedish artist Plàsi expands his sonic palette beyond traditional singer-songwriter boundaries, reaching cinematic heights with a bolder sound and ambition.
Plàsi, the Greco-Swedish singer-songwriter, defies musical conventions with his latest EP, Salamina. A departure from his previous work, this project showcases a bolder sound and a more expansive sonic palette. Produced by Björn Yttling, Salamina blends elements of indie folk, cinematic pop, and electronic music, creating a captivating and unique listening experience.
Born in Crete and raised in North Sweden, Plàsi developed a distinctive style influenced by artists like Blanco White, Henry Jamison, Efterklang, and Phoebe Bridgers. His music, characterized by ethereal acoustic guitar, lithe production, and warm vocals, has resonated with audiences worldwide.
I am myself more than ever. I’m following my instincts. The energy I have at the moment and the type of songs coming out now are not a coincidence. I wanted a bit more pace and power in my musical project because that’s where I am right now in my life. I’m thrilled with the result.
-Plàsi
Inspired by a trip to the Greek island of Salamina, Plàsi embarked on a creative journey with frequent collaborator Linus Hasselberg. Together, they crafted the songs that would become Salamina. The EP’s opening track, ‘All of Me,’ sets the tone with its introspective lyrics and lush sonic architecture, inviting listeners to embrace the unknown with optimism.
While I was in Salamina, something in me just wanted to take that step from being ‘the guy with the guitar’ to having a full band sound. I wanted everything to feel bigger. It’s where my musical base lies. I learned so much there.”
There are places in the world that show us the way without trying. Life in Salamina changes in a second. You can go from the cosmopolitan capital to the rural island—almost right next door. It’s rough, but honest. In a way, the landscape tells us a lot about life and its natural beauty. This particular environment really made me think outside of the box.
Continuing to challenge your thinking can be hard when you’ve found an expression, you’re comfortable with. The curiosity of trying something new will still be there unless you actually try it. I’m daring to take a step in a new direction.

Salamina is a testament to Plàsi’s artistic evolution and his ability to push the boundaries of his music. With its cinematic soundscapes and poignant lyrics, the EP is a captivating exploration of self-discovery and renewal.
The opening track and title song, ‘Salamina,’ is a captivating blend of synths and ethereal arpeggiation. Plàsi’s evocative vocals channel the energy of the island, creating a truly immersive listening experience.
When we started writing it, something special happened. It was different from anything I’d done before. It became the basic idea of what I wanted to write around. The journey began with this song on Salamina.

Singing in Swedish for the first time, ‘Ordna Sig’ is a captivating track that combines layered strings with steady organic percussion. Plàsi’s vocals soar to cinematic heights, creating a truly immersive listening experience.
It wasn’t planned, but for some reason the lyrics came out of my mouth in Swedish when I was writing ‘Ordna Sig’. The melodies, chords, and progressions reminded me of the Swedish scene I grew up in, so it felt 100% natural to write it that way.
-Plàsi
On ‘Avignon,’ Plàsi showcases a different side of his musicality, blending a laid-back beat with the energy of electric guitar.
It’s the most experimental song on the EP. It has a sound that I didn’t expect we would reach before entering the studio, but it really made me take a step into exciting territory together with Yttling.
-Plàsi
“Innocent” finds him in a space of reflection as he simultaneously shares wisdom in a clarion call chorus.
It’s about dreaming back to the youth times when one’s problems seemed less complicated than when you grow up. It’s a call to the generation below me to take their chances to run, explore, and try their wings before they get stuck in the labyrinth of life.
