I interviewed Christine Kloser, the Founder and CEO of Get Your Book Done and Capucia Publishing, about her career, what inspires her, and the work that goes into her Get Your Book Done Podcast.

Tell me a bit about who you are.

I’m Christine Kloser the Founder and CEO of Get Your Book Done and Capucia Publishing where, since 2004, we’re been supporting successful professionals, experts and rising thought leaders to write, publish and market book that transform lives.

I’m a UA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author and have also been an Amazon’s Top 100 Overall best-selling author.

Christine Kloser

I love helping people excavate the story/message they’ve had stuck inside them so they can experience deeper fulfillment, purpose, and success while making a positive difference in their readers’ lives.

How and why did you start podcasting?

I started podcasting in December of 2019 after attending an event where I thought the focus for me would be on getting more bookings as a podcast guest.  But I quickly realized there’s great benefit in hosting my own.  And since I love doing interviews, it was right up my alley.

What is your current podcast called, and how did you come up with the name?

The podcast is called Get Your Book Done and I named it that because it’s the brand name of the author program I’ve been delivering since 2007.

What platforms can we find Get Your Book Done on?

Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify

What is Get Your Book Done about?

Here’s the official podcast description…

Join USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author, and award-winning publisher, Christine Kloser on the Get Your Book Done podcast.

Each week she brings you engaging interviews with New York Times best-sellers, publishing industry leaders, everyday authors and book marketing experts eager to help you make a difference with your message and experience publishing success… because authorship is one of the most powerful things you can do to transform yourself, your readers, your business and ultimately the world.

Get Your Book Done

If you’re a  non-fiction author thinking about writing a book or already working on one — this podcast is for you!

Do you host Get Your Book Done alone, or have guest hosts/partners?

I host it on my own.

Do you edit Get Your Book Done or have someone who does it for you?

I’ve got a support team who does the editing and publishing.  The only think I do is enjoy great conversations with my guests.

Do you script Get Your Book Done, or just chat as you go?

I have a few questions in advance to guide the conversation, but the flow is definitely more organc and unscripted.

How has Get Your Book Done changed or developed since you began?

One big change was that we started out producing a show every week, and we switched it to twice a month.  Another change was updating the show flow to a much more engaging and effective format including a teaser up front and ad breaks to break up the show and keep people engaged.

What are you biggest challenges with Get Your Book Done?

We’ve had so many other initiatives we’re working on, not to mention all the authors we are supporting to write, publish and market their books that we haven’t marketed our podcast as well as we’d like to.   We’re working on that!

What are your favorite podcasts to listen to?

How and where do you promote Get Your Book Done?

Turning Point Moments by Christine Kloser

We promote to our email subscribes in our newsletter and solo email, in addition to sharing on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Linked In.   Plus, we consistently share the podcast, graphics, audiogram and details with all of our guests, many of whom share it with their communities as well.

Do you earn money from podcasting, or is it a hobby?

It’s a business endeavor more than a hobby and while we’re not earning money directly from advertising, we do attract new clients from the podcast.

What’s something you never expected about podcasting? What have you learned that surprised you?

How possible it is to deliver a great podcast in about an hour a month of my own time.  The team is critical and makes it easy to consistently produce a high-quality show.

What is the first piece of advice you would give to anyone inspired to start podcasting?

First, know why you are doing it!   And be honest about how committed and consistent you can be in creating episodes.  Too many podcasters start out strong and fizzle out fast.  Be one of the ones that starts strong and stays strong.

And, finally, are your proud of what you’re accomplishing with your podcast? Is it worth the effort?

I feel very proud of what we’re doing.  And, with some of the new initiatives we’re implementing specifically to better make the podcast an increasing source of new clients and revenue, I’d say it’ll definitely be worth the effort.
