Methodology:

1. Theslotbuzz.com was interested to learn which popular television crime shows had the most committed murders.

2. After perusing a variety of online publications, a seed list of the 15 most popular television shows was compiled for this purpose. No partial seasons were taken into account.

3. Theslotbuzz.com then sourced and counted the number of murders in each show using plot summaries on Wikipedia and a popular fan site’s list of deaths. You can find all of the sources used here.

4. The names of the characters and the number of episodes that each TV show had were also noted for the data breakdown.

5. Mentions of multiple unidentified murders (e.g. “) are used to ensure consistency in the data. kills a number of men,” “many of them were killed”), and there were five deaths. In cases where there were more perpetrators than victims, the number of murders was taken into account (for instance). Two men kill one man, resulting in two murders). Passings by carelessness (eg. driving under the influence) and resurrections were counted as murders in the television series “Lucifer.”

6. The deaths of only named characters were counted. The kill is credited to the hirer when the hired assassins are unnamed characters.

7. Since neither suicide nor legitimate police killings resulted in incarceration, they were not included in this study.

8. According to multiple sources, including the U.S. Department of Justice and the Sentencing Council, the estimated median sentence length for all murders is 15 years in prison.

9. The number of murders was then ranked by TV series, characters, and episodes by Theslotbuzz.com.

10. All data was gathered in February 2023 and may have changed since then.
