In 1963, Joyce embarked on a transformative teaching assignment in Texas, an experience that deeply influenced his writing. This period provided the rich tapestry for his allegorical epic, a novel that explores the vibrant energy of youth, the fierce pursuit of ideals, and the profound impact of life’s gentle lessons.

He currently resides in England’s West Country, where he continues to write and teach.
