Freeda The Frog Gets A Divorce

Children can find it difficult and confusing to deal with divorce. How do you tell a child that their parents won’t be living together anymore?

Freeda The Frog Gets A Divorce

In Freeda The Frog Gets A Divorce, author Nadine Haruni tells a story to help families cope with the often overwhelming emotions of a new family dynamic. This is a children’s book that clearly explains what divorce is is helpful due to the fact that approximately half of marriages end in divorce. Additionally, it fosters empathy for children whose parents are not divorced in order to better comprehend the struggles of their friends.

Freeda The Frog Gets A Divorce, the first book in her Freeda the Frog series, is about young Frannie and Frank and their parents, Freeda and Fred, who are now always fighting. Frannie and Frank are saddened by this, and Freeda informs them one day that mommy and daddy are divorcing. Frannie and Frank cry incessantly after Freeda explains the little tadpoles’ confusion. They are unable to comprehend why mommy and daddy no longer wish to share the lily pad. The change was difficult; Frannie and Frank visited their father Fred on the weekends at his brand-new lily pad while living with their mother, Freeda.

Little Frank and Frannie quickly discover that even if they don’t live together, both of their parents will still love them. The little tadpoles also discover that they are not the only ones, and that other tadpoles at the school have parents who have split up. Frannie and Frank’s classmates advise them to talk to loved ones and not keep their emotions to themselves. Frannie and Frank slowly came to realize that even though Daddy and Mommy live on different lily pads, they will live happily ever after.

Parents and children alike will find solace in reading about how Frannie and Frank coped with their parents’ divorces, whether they are still reeling from it or adjusting to a new family structure. Nadine Haruni’s mission is continued inFreeda The Frog Gets A Divorce, assisting all species families, one tadpole at a time.
