The Cold Distance

The Cold Distance is a unique cold case mystery with a plot that allows the author to explore themes like time passing, personal regrets, and nostalgia. It is the ideal holiday read. and one that will undoubtedly receive five-star reviews.

Neil Coley explained that The Cold Distance takes place partly in the present and partly in the early 1970s at a university in the North of England.

After fifty years, successful crime writer Robert Cross decides to organize a reunion of his university friends. He slowly learns, as he travels the country meeting up with his former acquaintances and talking to them, that the 1973 death of one of his group members was not a suicide as he had always thought; rather, it was more mysterious. He gradually begins to investigate the events of a long time ago and discovers that a friend of his is a murderer. He begins to piece together the story of what took place in 1973 and discover the truth while imagining his own fictional detective working on the case.
