On The Table Read Magazine, “the best entertainment magazine in the UK“, Chinese American singer-songwriter Emei has released a new song about feeling safe and finding solace, Don’t Know About The World.

Don’t Know About The World is a song about feeling safe and finding solace in that one person (or space or thing). I don’t often write about love, so finding a way to create a sappy authentic love song that still could live on this project was more difficult than you’d think. I wanted this single to be a bit of a left turn from my previous singles. I wanted the song to be a window into my emotional world.

Known for dripping vocals, colorful lyrics, and slicing wit, viral alt-pop artist Emei has rapidly built up a fan base over the past year. Thanks to her decade of stage experience, Emei’s audience feels invited into her world as she leads them through her hyper-relatable musings on young adult life.

When Covid hit, Emei started releasing new music on American platforms, with her single, Late To The Party, hitting 6 million streams after videos of her performing the song live hit 10 million views over Tiktok and Instagram Reels. 

Her 2023 song Scatterbrain reached 15 million streams since it’s release in February and was featured on 15 NMF’s internationally, received airplay on BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop show, and was selected as “Poppest Record Of The Week”. 

The follow up single, Irresponsible, was featured on NMF USA, JAPAN and CANADA, Planet Rave, Pop Sauce and more. It was also selected BBC Radio 1 as “Poppest Record Of The Week”, and has also received spins on Jack Saunder’s Future Artists show. The song has passed 5 million streams since it’s release (5.26). Most recently, Emei SOLD OUT her first ever headline shows, in London on July 20th and 21st.
