On The Table Read Magazine, “the best book magazine in the UK“, My Brothers by Jordynn W follows recently graduated Joey who questions if her brother Joshua’s death was an accident and if it links back to the death of their parents.
My Brothers
Intriguing contemporary mystery thriller, My Brothers by Jordynn W, will resonate with those not long out of their university education.
Protagonist Joey, a young graduate who has just started her first job, has had a life blighted with tragedy and distress. Following the death of her parents when she was young, her twin brother, Joshua, who was badly injured at the time, passed away three years later in a so-called accident.
One day, Joey receives an unknown message saying her brother’s death was not an accident. So, what happened to her brother? Are there any links between this and her parents’ case? And who sent Joey those messages?
In the web of suspenseful mystery and uncertainty around Joshua’s death, Joey follows clues like a path of breadcrumbs leading to an ending that is almost impossible to second-guess.
Appreciating that the storyline is based in part on Jordynn W’s real life experiences makes this debut novel all the more compelling. As does its message that despite the scars many of us silently carry, we are all still here, blessed, and chasing the life we deserve.
Jordynn W
Part of my book is based on my real experience of campus bullying. As a result of this I became depressed and lacked confidence for so many years. Even now sometimes I’m still struggling.
I think it always sucks for teenagers as sometimes the bullying starts for no reason. I have some scars from my life, as do a lot of other people. But my hope is that each of us will live with them, and never quit as we all deserve better.
I don’t have any writing degrees of previous experience of writing a novel. I’m been in UK for four years, but English is not my first language, and I’m still trying my best to improve. My Brothers is my first novel. I really hope I can get better and better in writing crime fiction. By the way, I really love crime TV series, especially the one called FBI with five seasons.
