On The Table Read Magazine, “the best entertainment eBook magazine UK“, friends of Douglas Adams, Martin Smith and Will Adams, released debut novel, Consequences, about an office worker who discovers he has the power to manipulate the consequences of his actions on Thursdays.
Consequences
Consequences, the debut novel from Martin Smith and Will Adams, is a satirical comedy that will leave you laughing and thinking. The pair, who previously collaborated with the legendary Douglas Adams, bring their unique blend of humour and wit to this offbeat and highly readable tale.
Written through a collaborative process where each author surprised the other with their chapters, Consequences is a refreshing and engaging read. The novel explores the concept of time travel and the power to manipulate consequences, while also offering a biting critique of modern society.
Protagonist Edward Prescot, a seemingly ordinary office worker, discovers a hidden ability that allows him to shape his future. As he navigates this newfound power, he encounters the enigmatic Mr. Pycroft and the equally gifted Tony Curtis. Together, they embark on a speculative journey through time, hoping to create a better world.
With its clever humour, thought-provoking themes, and a nod to their late friend Douglas Adams, Smith and Adams have crafted a truly enjoyable and memorable novel. Consequences is a must-read for fans of satire and those seeking a refreshing escape from reality.
Martin Smith and Will Adams
Long, long ago, three people formed a comedy group called Adams Smith Adams. One of them, Douglas Adams, hitchhiked across the Galaxy, but sadly died too early. The two of us still remaining have continued to write; Consequences is our first novel and we very much hope readers will be pleasingly surprised by how it has turned out.
