Claudia Cappelletti’s new single Mine is her strongest and most empowering work to date as she sings about women’s rights and the fight for equality.
As I traveled as a singer around the world so many times I got to live in underdeveloped countries where many women and girls continue to experience discrimination because of their sex and gender. I can’t deny the anger I felt for the injustice those women have to face in their everyday life.
-Claudia Cappelletti
With Mine, Claudia Cappelletti is inspiring and uniting listeners all around the world for the fight for the women’s rights to live free from violence and discrimination. She fights for women to enjoy physical and mental health, education, property ownership, rights to the vote, and an equal wage. The lyrics give a voice to women who can’t use their own.
With hopeful guitars and strings, Mine elevates the spirit of the song, with the beating of drums and bass to represent a real army of women fighting for their rights.
In the accompanying music video, Claudia displays a compilation of black and white footage of women going through different experiences, from fighting for their rights, to being trapped in a toxic relationship, living like a shadow of the person they really are. With splashes of colour and uplifting moments, Claudia delivers energy and passion to show the hope and light at the end of the tunnel.
This track marks the beginning of a new chapter for Claudia Cappelletti after having spent such a large part of her life singing other people’s songs. She felt the need to tell her own story and her truth, from her own point of view about life.
Claudia was bullied from a very young age and grew up with such low self esteem that she was judging herself so negatively that even a simple act like “writing her story” didn’t seem important enough or good enough to be told. When she finally realized that her happiness was her own responsibility, she knew that she couldn’t wait for the world and other people to be perfect for her to be happy. She stopped comparing herself to the others, started to embrace her own uniqueness, and allowed herself to smile at knowing that there is only one her in this world, with her own unique and amazing story.
