On The Table Read, “the best entertainment magazine in the UK“, Reboot Digital PR Agency have teamed up with body language expert Inbaal Honigman to analyse the sexual chemistry between couples of Strictly Come Dancing, and how likely they are to fall victim to the Strictly curse.
Strictly Curse
Lustful tensions are growing stroger between the Strictly co-stars as Strictly slowly edges closer to its halfway point, viewers anticipating which partnerships will develop into something more. This leads us to ask, which couples have the most authentic connection?
To find out, Reboot Digital PR Agency decided to analyse recent videos of the Strictly couples with celebrity psychic and body language expert, Inbaal Honigman. Using Google Trends, they also analysed which are the most talked about couple’s this season to find out who audiences believe have chemistry.
Strictly Come Dancing couples with the most chemistry:
Ranking | Couple | Chemistry Score (%) |
1 | Fleur East and Vito Coppola | 95% |
2 | Tyler West and Dianne Buswell | 90% |
3 | Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu | 80% |
4 | Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal | 75% |
5 | Ellie Simmonds and Nikita Kuzmin | 70% |
6 | Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe | 65% |
7 | Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima | 62% |
8 | Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez | 45% |
9 | Will Mellor and Nancy Xu | 35% |
10 | James Bye and Amy Dowden | 15% |
11 | Tony Adams and Katya Jones | 5% |
1. Fleur East and Vito Coppola – Chemistry score: 95%
Inbaal says, “What a lovely match of personalities these two display. They pull off ‘cool face’ expressions together and flash some genuine smiles at each other. Her clenched hands betray her nervousness but his touch is very soft and caring. Their hug at the end is very real and enthusiastic – fabulous chemistry”.
2. Tyler West and Dianne Buswell – Chemistry score: 90%
Inbaal states, “These two seem to share some lovely secret smiles and open gazes at each other – more than just the prepared choreography. Their eye contact is focused and many of their smiles are small and personal, not broad and staged, showing a real affection. They show real joy and pride in each other as they interact after the dance. She strokes his face, he beams from ear to ear – definite chemistry.”
3. Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu – Chemistry score: 80%
Inbaal suggests, “No displays of affection, no special smiles. The mutual respect that exists between two hard-working performers is enough of a chemistry to propel them towards a successful end, but it’s business only. Professional chemistry.”

Key body language findings:
– A visible hybrid of emotions and tactile actions determine a strong chemistry. A mix between delicacy and magnetism are signals to definitely look out for.
– Smiling and eye contact is the secret to an authentic connection.
– A direct gaze leaves little room for a romantic spark.
Strictly’s top five most talked-about couples:
Ranking | Couple | Couple’s search frequency as proportion of all couple searches (%)* |
1 | Ellie Simmonds and Nikita Kuzmin | 12.91% |
2 | Tyler West and Dianne Buswell | 10.95% |
3 | Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez | 10.88% |
4 | Tony Adams and Katya Jones | 10.29% |
5 | Fleur East and Vito Coppola | 9.63% |
*Couple’s search frequency as a proportion of all couple searches since the beginning of the season to present, using Google Trends (%).
Possibly amplified by their recent penalisation on last week’s episode for their use of an apparent “illegal lift”, Ellie Simmonds and Nikita Kuzmin have a friendly chemistry, and are the most searched for couple with a 12.91% online interest.
With 10.95% of the searches, Tyler West and Dianne Buswell rank second. This may be due to being in the bottom two last week, or their obvious chemistry. Dianne is currently loved up with former contestant Joe Sugg from Strictly 2018, but could this change?
Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez are rated as third most popular, securing 10.88% of the total searches. The heightened popularity may be a result of Helen’s public split earlier this year, whilst potentially contributing to their overall low chemistry score (45%).

Methodology:
1. Reboot Digital PR Agency were curious to uncover which Strictly Come Dancing couples have the strongest chemistry so far.
2. Firstly, Reboot Digital PR Agency partnered up with celebrity psychic and body language expert Inbaal Honigman (she/her) to analyse clips of this year’s Strictly couples to discover who has the most and least chemistry.
3. After watching clips of each pairing, Inbaal was also able to outline the type of chemistry each pairing are demonstrating – from professional to friendly, then concluded with a chemistry score for each couple based on their behaviour.
4. Then, by utilising Google Trends data, Reboot Digital PR Agency were able to find out which couple has the highest proportion of searches so far by calculating the total search interest for each couple over the last five weeks from the beginning of the season (Sep 23th 2022 – Oct 26th 2022) divided by the combined total searches for all couples.
5. Data was collected on October 26th 2022 but subject to change.
