Best Songs For A Good Nights Sleep

1. Apocalypse - Cigarettes After Sex 

Securing the number one position is Cigarettes After Sex with their popular track ‘Apocalypse,’ which appeared an impressive 623 times across the sleep-themed playlists.  

The ethereal and calming ambience of the song has made it a go-to choice for those seeking a wistful song before bedtime. 

The song rose to popularity in 2022 following its popularity on TikTok and now has over 1 billion Spotify streams, where many are using its calming tones to get a good night’s sleep.  

2. Sparks - Coldplay 

Coldplay is clearly a popular choice when creating a calming and sleepy atmosphere, as they appeared six times across the full ranking. However, their melodic song ‘Sparks’ ranked as the second sleepiest song.  

The song creates a comforting and calming vibe for listeners and has proven a popular choice for those seeking a soothing atmosphere to ease into sleep.  

Additionally, ‘Yellow, ‘ ‘ The Scientist, ‘ ‘Fix You, ‘ ’A Sky Full of Stars, ‘ and ‘Sparks’ all appeared among the top sleepiest songs – so be sure to add these classic relaxing tunes to any bedtime playlists.

Lord Huron’s, ‘The Night We Met,’ was featured 460 times across the playlist data. The song creates a bittersweet ambience with its calming vocals and emotional depth – making it the perfect choice for those seeking a sleep-inducing lullaby. 

5. My Love Mine All Mine - Mitski 

Mitski’s ‘My Love Mine All Mine’ secures the fifth position with 379 appearances. The viral TikTok sound brings listeners a feeling of relaxed melancholy. 

6. Fourth of July - Sufjan Stevens 

Sufjan Stevens’ folk track ‘Fourth of July,’ takes the sixth spot, offering a feeling of richness with its layered sound. Appearing 371 times, this song creates a cinematic and emotional experience for its listeners.

Pop sensation Billie Eilish stands out within the full ranking despite not securing a spot in the top ten. Remarkably, a total of ten songs by the artist appeared throughout the complete list. Billie’s recent popular song ‘What Was I Made For?’, featured in the widely acclaimed Barbie movie soundtrack, ranked high in 16th place – making it a top choice for any chilled playlist.  

Other Billie Eilish songs worth including in the ultimate relaxing playlist include ‘Lovely (with Khalid),’ ‘TV,’ ‘When the Party’s Over,’ and ‘Everything I Wanted.’  

Interestingly, the research also highlights the influence of TikTok on bedtime song choices. Several songs that have gained popularity on the social media platform for their calming and soothing qualities have made their way into the ultimate bedtime playlist, including ‘My Love Mine All Mine‘ by Mitski and ‘Je te laisserai des mots,’  by Patrick Watson.  

In a world filled with constant stimuli and hectic schedules, the importance of a good night’s sleep cannot be overstated. Unfortunately, research suggests insomnia is a common problem across the UK, regularly affecting around one in three people.
