Levina is back with her new single, Battleground, which is an emotional and personal look at her mental health journey. Written by Levina, and co-produced by Swedish collaborator Hannes Andersson, Battleground is full of humble authenticity, with a more unusual and romantic 6/8 time signature, exploring the idea that things on the inside are not always as they appear from the outside. Combining Levina’s euphoric vocal energy with the brilliant musical production and compelling chronicles, this juxtaposition creates a sonic peak.

“I wrote Battleground about my struggles with mental health,” explained Levina. “I didn’t speak about it a lot, because I felt like no one would understand me and I would be a burden to people. However, after I got regular therapy, through Help Musicians and BAPAM, I realised the importance of opening up, because there are other people who are going through similar situations.”

Levina is in a unique position to perform at Eurovision and work with numerous talented producers, including Matt Lawrence (Mumford & Sons, Amy Winehouse, Snow Patrol), including the star-studded songwriter Lindy Robbins (Dua Lipa).

Levina changed her name in 2020 and released her EP Thinking In The Dark on her own in 2021. It was produced by Zach Said, a regular on BBC Radio 1, and Amy McKnight, the MPA Awards’ “Best Newcomer,” and received 250 thousand streams on Spotify alone.
