On The Table Read Magazine, “the best creativity magazine in the UK“, to accompany the book That’s Okay which delves into the feelings, emotions, and wellbeing of children, Chris Dixon has created a colourful and entertaining 7-minute animation.

That’s Okay

Both adults and children can experience difficult to manage emotions. Knowing why you feel the way you do can be challenging at times,so the colorful creatures in That’s Okay by Chris Dixon are there to help.

The book does not appear to be “educational,” but rather enjoyable from beginning to end. While keeping it light, it fosters the right perspectives to emotions while teaching small children what they mean.

You and your child will meet them a range of feelings throughout the book, including: Happy, Sad, Shy, Excited, Confused, Grumpy, Okay, Surprised, Hurt, Bored, Nervous, Jealous, Disappointed, Angry, Embarrassed.

The purpose of the book is to show children that the emotions they are experiencing don’t have to be scary or upsetting, and to help with the communication of feelings between children and adults, whether they are parents, educators, or counselors.

New Animation

That’s Okay Worksheet

Chris Dixon, the author of That’s Okay, created a colorful and entertaining 7-minute animation to accompany the book, which examines the feelings, emotions, and well-being of children.

The video can be watched YouTube or downloaded, and an ad-free version can be bought from the That’s Okay website as part of the digital book bundle which also includes audio books, eBooks in different languages and printable colouring sheets.

In addition to being useful for parents to assist their children with understanding their emotions, it can be used by schools and other  organizations as a component of helping develop a sense of wellbeing in children.

As well as the animation, the book is now fully interactive. On portal.worldcast.io, the character can be scanned using a mobile phone, and then the colorful creatures will speak and come to life on the screen. This upgrades the experience of the book giving an additional degree of engagement to help learning.

Chris Dixon

Chris Dixon, a writer based in Norwich, UK, recognized his lack of emotional awareness after confronting his own mental health issues and having the good fortune to receive therapy. Chris is of the opinion that Western culture discourages people from expressing certain emotions, like anger and sadness, which causes people to feel embarrassed and afraid to express themselves.

This concealment of feelings can be especially difficult in workplaces, where expressing sandess or disatisfaction it is frequently seen as unproffesional.

Chris wants to start teaching children about emotional awareness as early as possible so that they can learn to understand and control their emotions in a healthy way without feeling ashamed or embarrassed.
