When did you first WANT to write a book?

It was during COVID.

When did you take a step to start writing?

Right away.

How long did it take you to complete your first book from the first idea to release?

It took me 3 years. I got to the halfway point and stopped. My self-judgment and fear were so strong that I stopped writing. I was judging myself. Telling myself, “Who am I to write?”, that my English is not perfect and that I am being ridiculous. I took a break and stopped writing for 3 months. But, my desire to write the book was so big that I decided not to let fear control me and I wrote it anyway.

What made you want to write Your Past Can’t Break You?

When I made the decision to write a book, I thought – we all have a story to tell that we learn from so much.  Thanks to our story we become who we are, we evolve, we grow, and I thought this didn’t happen by coincidence. There is a reason for it. And so, I decided that the reason is to share, to help and to bring my story to light.

What were your biggest challenges with writing Your Past Can’t Break You?

Self-judgment. From my experience I think we are our own worst judges; we dare to think about ourselves the things that we would never think of for other people. There is no limit. So, the big challenge was to overcome that judgment and finally accept that I could do it. That I can be a writer. That I am good enough to write a book.

What was your research process for Your Past Can’t Break You?

How did you plan the structure of Your Past Can’t Break You?

When I am writing, I don’t have a plan I just take a pen and paper (or laptop) and I just center myself to my heart and write whatever comes. Some days, I sit down, and nothing comes to me. And that’s okay, it is part of the process.

Did you get support with editing, and how much editing did Your Past Can’t Break You need?

Yes, I did work with editor and so my book was edited as all books need to be edited.

I would say – go, go, go! Do not even think about how it will come out or what will happen. Do not question yourself. Do not judge yourself. Just open your heart and surrender and write. Trust the process.

Can you give me a hint about any further books you’re planning to write?

Yes, I do have a plan to write the 2nd book and I do know the subject, but I will keep it to myself for now. 😊

Treat depression with the push of a button.

And, finally, are you proud of your accomplishment? Was it worth the effort?

Yes, I am happy that I have overcome my fear of writing. Seeing my book out there, seeing that it can be helpful to other people and seeing that goal achieved, makes me very happy. It is definitely worth it because when we write a book, we are not only writing for ourselves, but we are also writing for others as well – to give a message, to share a story, to change lives, to bring a smile and to give hope. So, for all these reasons – Yes, it is worth it. This is one of the best things I have accomplished in my life so far.
