I grew up in rural Kenya, where storytelling was woven into everyday life—around fires, in the fields, and on long walks to school. Those early experiences shaped my love for words and the power they hold. Echoes of Memory is a reflection of that journey—blending personal history, culture, and the resilience of the human spirit.

When did you first WANT to write a book?

Writing, for me, is a way to preserve voices, honor the past, and inspire the future. I have always wanted to start writing books after high school but never had a chance or resources to get it done.

When did you take a step to start writing?

I took a significant step into writing during deployment. The long nights at sea and the quiet moments between missions gave me time to reflect on my journey—from growing up in rural Kenya to navigating life in general. Writing became my way of capturing those experiences, preserving memories, and making sense of the world around me. Echoes of Memory is a product of that reflection—a tribute to resilience, heritage, and the stories that shape us. After discovering Spines Publishers, who were incredibly helpful and willing to bring the book to life, I knew my stories had found the right home, and the journey from memory to the written page became a reality.

How long did it take you to complete your first book from the first idea to release?

It took me a few years to complete writing about myself because I wasn’t sure how to go about it. The process was filled with uncertainty, but once I connected with Spines Publishers, everything changed.

With their guidance and support, Echoes of Memory was brought to life and published within a month.

This book is for anyone who believes in pushing beyond limits, embracing opportunities, and turning struggles into stepping stones.

My first piece of advice is simple—just start writing. Take it chapter by chapter, and don’t overthink it.

Can you give me a hint about any further books you’re planning to write?

I have a couple of exciting projects in the works. Forged by the Sea will cover my experiences traveling while in the Navy, capturing the adventures, challenges, and lessons learned along the way. I’m also working on Red Rebellion, a book about Liverpool Football Club, which holds a special place in my heart as a passionate supporter. Both books will share stories of passion, dedication, and the journeys that shape us.

And, finally, are your proud of your accomplishment? Was it worth the effort?

Yes, I’m incredibly proud of my accomplishment. I didn’t go into writing to make a lot of money, but rather to preserve these stories and share them with the world. More than anything, I want my kids to read them when they grow up—to understand my journey, the lessons I’ve learned, and the experiences that shaped me. If my stories can inspire even one person, then all the effort was absolutely worth it.
