I interviewed Dr Howard Eisenberg about his career, what inspires him, and the work that went into his new book, Dream It To Do It.

Tell me a bit about who you are.

Howard Eisenberg, M.Sc.(Psych), M.D., is a medical doctor with additional postgraduate training in both psychology and psychiatry. He has been a Lecturer in parapsychology at the University of Toronto, and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Vermont. He is also the C.E.O. of the international consultancy, Syntrek® Inc.

On a more personal level, he’s been on a passionate life-long quest to discover the true nature of reality.

Dr Howard Eisenberg

He was awarded the first postgraduate degree in Canada, at McGill University, for his parapsychological research on Telepathy. He then pioneered the instruction of parapsychology as a regular credit course at the University of Toronto.

Almost half a century ago, he authored his first trailblazing book, “Inner Spaces: Parapsychological Explorations of the Mind”.

This book is the culmination of his successful quest to learn HOW REALITY WORKS!

When did you first WANT to write a book?

At the time of my previous book, “Inner Spaces” Parapsychological Explorations of the Mind”, back in 1977.

When did you take a step to start writing?

For my new book – February of 2020

How long did it take you to complete your first book from the first idea to release?

Technically about 8 weeks from beginning to end, (however, it was based in part on my accumulated lecture material)

How long did it take you to complete your latest book from the first idea to release?

Actually the first idea for such emerged shortly after the publication of my previous book, (so almost half a century until it was manifested.) The actual concept and rough notes for this new book evolved in the Fall of 2019.

Focusing on your latest release. What made you want to write Dream It To Do It?

Desperate attempt at a global wake-up call from the prevailing mass insanity and resulting existential threats.

What were your biggest challenges with writing Dream It To Do It?

Crafting it to be incredibly comprehensive, yet also reader-friendly and refreshingly concise.

What was your research process for Dream It To Do It?

Tremendous amount of research and readings using Journal articles, books, conferences, webinars and discussions with colleagues. And deep intuitive reflections!

How did you plan the structure of Dream It To Do It?

Used a “mind-mapping” process

Did you get support with editing, and how much editing did Dream It To Do It need?

I did hire an editor to check my manuscript for clarity, spelling and grammar – although it was not a major need for this book project.

What is the first piece of writing advice you would give to anyone inspired to write a book?

Ha – read my new book – “Dream it to Do it: The Science & the Magic”, (as it literally explains the creative process – big time)

Can you give me a hint about any further books you’re planning to write?

In the light of our current existential crises and increasing mass insanity, I’m contemplating writing another book on “emotional self-regulation” for greater stress resilience and wiser thinking.

And, finally, are your proud of your accomplishment? Was it worth the effort?

I am proud that I rose to this crazy challenge of writing a book in the midst of these difficult dark times to wake up global humanity to the error of our beliefs and behaviours. As to whether it can achieve my lofty goal, I am continuing to work towards that end in whatever way I can!
