Tell me a bit about who you are.
I am someone who refuses to allow life’s challenges to keep me down. No matter what, I always manage to bounce back with help from my Heavenly Father, Jehovah.
When did you first WANT to write a book?
I knew I wanted to write a book when the hardships of my life in active addiction started to open my eyes to the true meaning of life. That is, living life purposefully. I wanted others to know of my existence on the earth.
When did you take a step to start writing?
I took a step to start writing once I became free from alcohol and drugs usage.
How long did it take you to complete your first book from the first idea to release?
Honestly, it took several attempts to write my book. It was only until I realized I truly have a story inside of me. My manuscript was completed in 7 months.
What were your biggest challenges with writing Born On A Bed Of Grace?
My biggest challenge in writing my book was the pain that I felt as I recalled and pinned those memories. For instance, the death of my grandmother and mother; my son entering prison; and other painful memories in my book.
What was your research process for Born On A Bed Of Grace?
Actually, my research while writing my autobiography entailed reviewing my journals for specific dates and events.
How did you plan the structure of Born On A Bed Of Grace?
I planned the structure of Born on a Bed of Grace as an outline, using a chronological order. That is, early childhood memories to date of book completion.
Did you get support with editing, and how much editing did Born On A Bed Of Grace need?
Yes, I received support with editing. I was informed the editing was needed more or less on punctuation than anything.
What is the first piece of writing advice you would give to anyone inspired to write a book?
My advice to anyone inspired to write a book, DO IT!!! You will not regret the great feeling of accomplishment of knowing you left history upon the earth for others to examine and become informed.
Can you give me a hint about any further books you’re planning to write?
Well, maybe, a small hint: How love found me a second time.
And, finally, are your proud of your accomplishment? Was it worth the effort?
Absolutely so, I am very proud of my accomplishment. The effort was, definitely, well worth it.
