A young actor from Mirfield is set to dazzle audiences in the highly anticipated Netflix animated film, That Christmas. 12-year-old Jack Wisniewski will lend his voice to the character of Danny Williams in this heartwarming festive feature. That Christmas was written and produced by renowned filmmaker Richard Curtis, and directed by Simon Otto in his directorial debut.

That Christmas is an adaptation of Curtis’s beloved children’s books, promising a delightful blend of humor, charm, and holiday spirit.

Written by Curtis and Peter Souter, the film features an all-star voice cast including Brian Cox, Fiona Shaw, Jodie Whittaker, and Bill Nighy. It premiered at the BFI London Film Festival on October 19, 2024, and was released on Netflix on December 4, 2024.

The film weaves together heartwarming tales of love, family, and friendship, all centered around a major blunder by Santa Claus and a whole lot of turkeys.

The cast were amazing, kind, and supportive. I felt privileged to be in the presence of Richard Curtis. All the time spent in the sound booth is now relatable, matching it to the animation. I can’t wait for it to be on Netflix.
