Nitin Mehta, MBE, was born in Kisumu, Kenya, and speaks fluent Swahili, Gujarati, Hindi, and Punjabi.

He became fascinated by the land of his ancestors as soon as he was old enough to understand that he was Indian by blood. At eight years old, his parents took him to India, and that experience continues to influence him to this day. When he moved to the UK early in life, Nitin delved into the profound, philosophical and spiritual wisdom of India.
