On The Table Read Magazine, “the best entertainment eBook magazine UK“, Osprey Charging invited children to describe what they think the future holds for society, with AI image generation bringing these visions to life, including images of polluted skies and desolated natural environments.
Osprey Charging, a leading UK provider of rapid EV charging infrastructure, recently conducted a thought-provoking experiment. The company partnered with an AI artist to bring children’s visions of the future to life.
Aged 7-14, the children were asked to describe their hopes and fears for humanity’s future. While their initial dreams centered on technological advancements and community spirit, their concerns painted a starkly different picture.
The AI artist transformed the children’s words into vivid images, revealing a world plagued by pollution, artificial greenery, and suffering. The children were shocked to see their own fears materialized on the screen, highlighting the urgent need for action to combat climate change.
However, when the children described their ideal future, the AI artist generated images of vibrant nature, clean air, and innovative transportation. These hopeful visions demonstrated the positive impact that sustainable practices and green energy can have on our world.
Inspired by these images, the children emphasized the importance of taking immediate action to reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment. They recognized that the future is in our hands and that we must seize the opportunity to create a better world.
It has been incredibly eye-opening and insightful to hear the thoughts, hopes and fears of our next generation on what they believe lies in store for our society and environment, and the stark visualisation using AI generated images cements the need for action to be taken to support the move to net zero. Here at Osprey Charging, we’re continuing to be at the forefront of this transition, installing increasing numbers of public EV chargers across the UK, with over 1,000 rapid chargers now available on the Osprey network, in a range of accessible rural and urban locations.
This experiment and the engaging input from each child that participated highlighted the necessity for both businesses and individuals to continuously strive for greater green and sustainable practices, something which we pride ourselves on. Through installing charging infrastructure, powered by renewable energy, from Land’s End to John O’Groats and across Great Britain, we are providing the critical infrastructure that is supporting the UK’s transition to electric vehicles.
